Nick is a writer and activist. He has lived and worked in Jordan, Mexico and the United States. He currently lives in Kansas City, Missouri.
Nick was born in the Texas Hill Country and raised by a family of German-Romani chasing work across the American South. He spent much of his youth trekking the backwoods and tracing spring-fed rivers that stream out from Austin. It was his introduction to punk rock and literature that led to an interest in the arts and nonconformity.
Immediately after high school Nick hit the road. A spontaneous bus ride to Mexico City led him into the hazy mountain rain forests of Chiapas to work with the Maya. He was then swayed to Kansas City where he lived with a wild bunch.
With the Middle East on the brink of revolution (2011), he took a one-way flight to Morocco and set about a period on the road, across North Africa to Jordan where he worked as an archaeologist and freelance journalist.
